Abstract:
The present invention is to protect the lamp-data reader against heat and voltage in a light-source apparatus with monitoring of lamp usage state and history by lamp-data reading. Lamp data are indicated on a lamp base. The base holder to hold the lamp base is provided with a lamp-data reader. The lamp-data reader is moved to a position to read lamp data with the lamp held by the base holder but unlit. The lamp-data reader is removed to a safety position with a cover to shield lamp heat before lighting. The lamp data are lamp attributes and lamp specs. The lamp attributes are manufactured date, manufacturer name, manufacture place, manufacture line, lamp type, species number, lot number, distinguisher number, etc. The lamp specs are rated current, rated voltage, cooling conditions, apparatus setup-angle, usable maximum-time, etc. The lamp data are denoted in optically readable forms such as barcodes, 2-dimensional codes, characters, symbols, signs, figures, patterns and so on.
