A lamp is housed in a lamp unit 10 fixed to a lamp easing 11, having a cooling device 2, and a lamp lighting device 3 is housed in a easing 31 having a cooling mechanism. The casings 11, 31 are formed in a sealed type preferably with a heat resistant, heat conductive material such as aluminum. A wiring 5 between the lamp and the lamp lighting device 3, a protecting tube 50 of the wiring 5, and a connector 50 for fixing the protecting tube 50 to be casing 11, 31 are formed with a waterproof, explosion proof material. The lamp and the lamp lighting device 3 have different calorific value and allowable temperature, the optimum cooling function is given to them to eliminate a useless space within the casing 11, 31. The device is useful around or in water, in a place needing explosion proof, in the seashore being injured by seawater, and in the outdoor filled with exhaust gases.
