Abstract:

To provide a light source and an indicator capable of enhancing visibility.

Photonic crystals 2 of a size of one μm to tens of μm are provided to cover a whole surface through a binder. Since the photonic crystals can get a high refraction index against a wavelength of light emitted from an LED 1 (even n>3 is possible), the light source which can get a total reflection against light emitted by the LED 1 has a similar to or more than an effect of fine diamond particles coated on the light source, giving rise to a so-called 'twinkling.' Therefore, the light source can be excellent in fanciness and visibility.
