Abstract:

PURPOSE: To avoid the state where the driver of a following vehicle to feel high dazzlement and to be dazzled, even in the state where the rear lamps of the vehicle is in the vehicle stop state waiting for signal change at night.

CONSTITUTION: This controller is provided with: driving parts 53-55 which selectively puts ON brake lamps 3L, 3R, additional brake lamp 8 and rear fog lamps 6L, 6R which are installed on the vehicle; a vehicle-to-vehicle distance sensor 10 which detects the intervehicular distance from a vehicle to a following vehicle; the brake lamps 3L, 3R, additional brake lamp 8, and rear fog lamps 6L, 6R that are respectively put into ON state by the driving parts 53-55; a control unit 50 which allows the driving parts 53-55 to dim the light of the brake lamps 3L, 3R, additional brake lamp 8, and the rear fog lamps 6L, 6R in the put-ON state when the vehicle-to-vehicle distance detected by the intervehicular distance sensor 10 becomes less than a prescribed distance.
