PURPOSE: To reduce the labor requied for wiring and improve the appearance of a lighting device by connecting a plurality of lighting fittings together by means of a connecting member to which wires for supplying currents to the plurality of lighting fittings are supported.

CONSTITUTION: A chassis 29 is divided into three portions and a ballast 31 is supported to the center of the lower side of the chassis 29. Three wires 48 are drawn out to both sides from the ballast 31 and a connector 35 is connected to the end portion of each of the wires. A channel 33 is formed in a socket 25 and a connecting member 37 is inserted into the channel 33. The connector 35 at the end portion of each wire drawn out from the ballast 31 is connected to a connector 51 at the end portion of each wire 49 drawn out from the connecting member 37. Construction work for disposing feed wires is therefore unnecessary and the labor required for construction work is reduced and also the appearance of the lighting device is bettered because the feed wires are not exposed.
