Abstract:
To provide a lighting device and a luminaire capable of restraining temperature rise of a ballast choke.
At an area with a high light-control ratio, an output voltage of a chopper circuit 13 is changed over within a range of temperature tolerance of a ballast choke (a resonating inductor 162) to set up an exoergic temperature for the ballast choke, and a lower-limit output voltage is set at a light-control ratio of 40%, so that the exoergic temperature of the ballast choke is to be restrained below the temperature tolerance even with the light-control ratio set low.
