Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device which suppresses the formation of a shadow of a pasted document, etc., by increasing the quantity of illumination light by directing and converging light which is not used effectively and illuminates different directions on one direction in addition to light which illuminates the one direction and also enabling both-side illumination.
SOLUTION: The lighting device 1 is equipped with a light source 2, a light guide member 3 which guides light, and a reflecting member 4 which reflects the light. The luminous flux which is made incident on the light guide member 3 from the light source 2 while totally reflected in the light guide member 3 reaches every part of the light guide member 3. The direct illumination luminous flux from the light source 2 propagates through the light guide member 3, but is made incident at an angle below the critical angle, so the luminous flux exits from the light guide member 3 to illuminate an illumination position 5 directly. Further, the luminous flux emitted by the light source 2 is made incident from a side part of the light guide member 3, propagated in the light guide member 3, and guided to the opposite side of the light guide member 3, so that a reflecting member 4 formed on the light guide member 3 reflects the light on the illumination position 5. At this time, the luminous flux illuminates the illumination position 5 from the direction wherein it crosses the luminous flux illuminating the illumination position 5 directly.
