To improve ease of maintenance by providing a plurality of blowout parts for interrupting power supply to a solid light-emitting element.
This lighting system comprises a plurality of light-emitting units 1 connected in parallel to a DC power supply, each of the light-emitting units 1 including: an organic EL element 3 as a solid light-emitting element that includes an organic thin film 32 and electrodes 31, 33 provided on both sides of the organic thin film 32 along the direction of thickness thereof, and that emits light by the passage of electric current between the electrodes 31 and 33; a terminal 43 electrically connected to the electrode 33 of the organic EL element 3 and to the DC power supply; and a substrate 2 for holding the organic EL element 3 and the terminal 43. Between the terminal 43 and the electrode 33 in each of the light-emitting units 1, there is provided a blowout part 43a that is blown by an overcurrent and thereby interrupts power supply to the organic EL element 3. When a short circuit occurs between the electrodes 31 and 33, replacing a relevant one of the light-emitting units 1 enables recovery of the total number of the light-emitting units 1 to illuminate. Ease of maintenance is thus improved, compared with a case where all of the organic EL elements 3 are provided on a single substrate 2.
