PURPOSE: To secure illuminance on a ceiling surface by providing a grating light-control loover for blocking those rays of light from a lamp which go downwards at an angle of less than predetermined degrees to the horizontal plane, and providing a reflecting plate for reflecting lamp light upwardly from the horizontal direction.

CONSTITUTION: A lighting fixture includes a grating light-control loover 21 for blocking those rays of light from a lamp 16 which go downwards at an angle of less than predetermined degrees to the horizontal plane, and a reflecting plate 25 provided in such a manner as protruding downwardly from the light-control loover 21 beyond a lighting open face 12 and a ceiling surface H, for reflecting light of the lamp 16 in the horizontal direction parallel to the ceiling surface H or in the more upward direction. since light that the lamp 16 emits downwards at an angle of less then predetermined degrees to the horizontal plane is thus blocked, light from the lamp will not be projected, for example, onto VDT. Also the reflecting plate 25 reflects lamp light in the horizontal direction parallel to the ceiling surface or in the more upward direction so that the ceiling on the side of the lighting fixture is illuminated. Reflection of lamp light onto VDT is prevented in this way, and on the ceiling surface sufficient illuminance is ensured.
