To provide a lighting means for kitchen counter which consumes less power.

A movable rack 12 is movably suspended from a support 10 secured to the wall surface W between a floor cabinet F and a wall cabinet G, and a light source comprising LEDs is provided on the underside of the bottom plate 13 of the rack 12. By moving the rack 12, a desired spot on a counter C can be locally illuminated. If the area of the light source is increased, the counter can be totally illuminated. Since LEDs consume little power, electric charges can be saved. Since LEDs do not provide excessively bright illumination, moderate or locally limited illumination can be provided. After lights are put out at night, faucets or sinks can be used without giving troubles to the surroundings.
