Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal amplifier which can stably amplify phase sensitivity while maintaining an amplification fiber length of an optical fiber amplifier which creates excitation light necessary for phase sensitivity amplification.SOLUTION: Signal light 550 is branched by an optical coupler 503-1, one of the branched light is made to pass through a phase modulator 505 and a fiber elongation implement 506 using PZT, made incident to a multicore light amplifier 501, and amplified, and the other of the branched light is made directly incident to the multicore light amplifier 501. Excitation fundamental wave light 551 which is amplified by the multicore light amplifier 501 is made incident to a first secondary non-linear optical element 502, and generates a second harmonic 552. The signal light 550 which passes through the multicore light amplifier 501 and the second harmonic 552 are multiplexed, and made incident to a second secondary non-linear optical element 504. The second secondary non-linear optical element 504 performs phase sensitivity amplification by performing degenerative parametric amplification of the signal light 550 with the second harmonic 552 as the excitation light.
