Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve intensity along with a lighter weight by a method wherein a layer of a skin material is formed on an outer surface of a core material comprising a foam material made of a resin and the skin material is formed from a nonwoven fabric comprising a long fiber made of a resin. CONSTITUTION: An outer surface of a core material 20 comprising a foam material is covered with an upper skin 1 and a lower skin 3 comprising two split pieces to build a totally integrated lighter float body. The upper skin 1 and the lower skin 3 respectively have a nonwoven fabric comprising a long fiber made of a resin impregnated with a resin and the nonwoven fabric is molded by heating into a specified shape by a molding die. A core material 2 with the shape and size thereof slightly smaller than the internal space of the skins 1 and 3 is molded separately from a foam material. The material is charged into a space formed by an upper molding die 4 and a lower molding die 5 and is heated up to a specified temperature to foam the core material 2 again thereby completely filling the space left in the internal space of the skins 1 and 3.
