Abstract:
An agent for accelerating the dehydration of lime mud, comprising a polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether represented by the general formula (1) as an active ingredient: R1O[CH2CH(CH3)O]m[CH2CH2O]n (1) wherein R1 represents a linear and/or branched alkyl group having 8 to 16 carbon atoms; m represents an integer ranging from 3 to 6; and n represents an integer ranging from 1 to 4, provided that m and n satisfies the requirements represented by the formula: m+n=4-9. The agent may also comprises a polyoxypropylene alkyl ether having 8 to 12 carbon atoms (the molar number of propylene oxide units added ranges from 3 to 6 moles).
