Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the control and execution of respective kinds of functions without obstructing a photographing action by making the defining method of a gazing position different in a picture display area and an index display area.
SOLUTION: By a detector for the movement of an eyeball 30, the position of a finder image plane gazed by a photographer is continuously detected and its positional signal is transmitted to a gate control circuit 34. By the control circuit 34, a video signal in an image plane area specified by the positional signal is passed through a gate circuit 16. Thus, an AF control and an AE control are executed by an AF control circuit 20 and an AE control circuit 22 based on the information of an object picture in the specified area. In such a way, conditions for detecting a gazing state are made different in the display area where the moving object picture is displayed and at the display position where an index whose position is decided is displayed. Therefore, both of the gazing action of the moving object picture such as a focusing action and a photometry action and the gazing action of the index for performing the various kinds of functions can be optimized.
