To provide a linear compressor capable of discharging the fluid upon compressing step by step in a plurality of compression chambers.
The linear compressor is equipped with a stationary cylinder furnished on one side with a discharge part and with the first compression chamber, a moving piston advanced and retreated by a linear motor so as to compress the fluid in the first compression chamber and furnished internally with a second compression chamber and with a first valve means formed in that part of the second compression chamber which is in communication with the first compression chamber, and a stationary piston fixed to the inside of the compressor, inserted to the moving piston so as to compress the fluid in the second compression chamber when the moving piston advances and retreats, and furnished with a suction penetrative passage in which the fluid is sucked and with a second valve means formed in that part of the suction penetrative passage which is in communication with the second compression chamber, whereby it is possible not only to compress the fluid in multiple stages before discharge to assure an enhanced compression efficiency but also make minimum the overall size of the compressor.
