PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive miniaturized automatic door opening and closing device having a simple structure which uses a linear motor as a drive source, in which the armature of the linear motor is mechanically coupled to a door so as to directly drive the door, and which uses a magnetic sensor for driving on the armature or the stator of the linear motor so that the position and the speed of the door are detected while preventing an exclusive sensor.
CONSTITUTION: An armature of a multi-phase brushless linear motor as a drive source for a door 33 is mechanically coupled to the door 33 so as to directly drive the latter. A magnetic detecting sensor for driving on the armature or the rotor delivers a signal so a to detect the position and the speed of the door, and accordingly, with the use of this signal, the opening and closing of the door is controlled by a control circuit and a human body detecting sensor 44.
