PURPOSE: To definitely prevent the smooth movement from being disturbed by controlling an inverter in such a manner that the voltage phase and frequency of a stator winding in the last stage section will coincide with those of a stator winding in the first stage section when a moving member shifts from the first stage to the last stage.
CONSTITUTION: A runway is divided in the moving direction of a moving member 1, and each subdivision is equipped with an independent stator winding 2a, 2b, 2c respectively. The stator windings 2a to 2c are driven by inverters 3a to 3c being frequency-controlled independently. Each inverter 3a to 3c is controlled in such a manner that the voltage phase and frequency of each stator winding 2a to 2c in the last stage section will become the same as those in the first stage section when the moving member passes the boundary between the neighboring sections.
