Abstract:

To provide a liquefaction prevention method through partial ground desaturation capable of appropriately and reliably increasing liquefaction strength for a long period without requiring a cutoff wall to be constructed around improvement object ground.

In a liquefaction prevention method through partial ground desaturation, water pumping means (a well 10 and a water pumping device 20) is installed in the ground without constructing a cutoff wall around improvement object ground. The ground is partially put into desaturation by lowering a groundwater level within an area surrounding the improvement object ground with groundwater pumped therefrom using the water pumping means (the well 10 and the water pumping device 20). Then, the ground is prevented from liquefaction by maintaining partial desaturation thereof within the area surrounding at least the improvement object ground after stopping groundwater pumping using the water pumping means (the well 10 and the water pumping device 20).
