To provide a liquid colorant comprising an inorganic pigment such as a titanium oxide, zinc oxide, zinc sulfide, Titanium Yellow, red iron oxide, Chromium Green, ultramarine, Cobalt Blue or black iron oxide, or carbon black, and an inorganic hygroscopic agent such as a metal oxide, metal chloride or metal sulfate, and being 1 wt.% or less in moisture content.

In making the liquid colorant to be used in an unsaturated polyester, the moisture contained in the inorganic pigment is put to chemical adsorption to the inorganic hygroscopic agent such as a metal oxide, metal chloride or metal sulfonate. Thereby, moisture is not released again even under heating in the unsaturated polyester's curing reaction, thus enabling a good molded product to be obtained.
