Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent sparks from being generated, by receiving light transmitted into an explosion proof area by means of an optical fiber, at a photo-actuator for converting light into force to drive control equipment. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam enters into an optical fiber 10 from a laser beam generator 12, and then irradiates a shape memory alloy 9 so that a rod 6 is moved rightward. Ports 18, 19 are set at an oil communication position, and a hydraulic actuator 4 is driven to rotate a conveying valve 3 by a predetermined angle. Accordingly, control operation is carried out with the use of light, the resilient force of a spring and hydraulic pressure while no electric power is used, and therefore, it is essentially safe against gas explosion.
