PURPOSE: To prepare an excellent liquid cosmetic capable of keeping the discoloration preventive effect over a long period to keep the original black color.

CONSTITUTION: This liquid cosmetic is composed of black iron oxide, a water-soluble organic solvent (preferably propylene glycol, glycerol, polyethylene glycol or 1,3-butylene glycol), water, ascorbic acid or erythorbic acid and/or their salts and an amino acid. Preferably, the amounts of the water-soluble organic solvent, the ascorbic acid, etc., and the amino acid are 2-30wt.%, 0.05-10wt.% and 0.05-15wt.% based on the total cosmetic, respectively. The cosmetic composition is effective for preventing the precipitation of particles in the case of using fine black iron oxide particles having particle diameter of ≤1.2μm in a liquid cosmetic having relatively low viscosity.
