PURPOSE: To prevent the breaking of the leading-out electrode of a liq. crystal cell or a short circuit by coating the part of the electrode contacting with the air with an org. filmlike insulator except the electrical contact so as to inhibit an electrochemical reaction due to electric corrosion.

CONSTITUTION: Upper and lower electrodes are superimposed on each other and sealed with an adhesive 5, a liq. crystal substance 4 is injected from an injecting hole, and the hole is sealed with a sealant to manufacture a liq. crystal cell. The exposed part of the lower electrode is then coated with an org. insulator 6 except the electrical contact. Electric corrosion is prevented ad the liq. crystal cell is kept stable for a long period.
