To provide a liquid crystal display device of animation image display of high quality by correctly displaying gradations of image signals.
The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel 18 for carrying out display by applying a voltage signal to pixels having liquid crystal layers, and a driving circuit 10 for applying, within one frame time, voltages corresponding to image signals and clear command signals, to the the respective pixels in the liquid crystal display panel. The driving circuit includes a combination detector circuit 12 for generating, by looking up an OS parameter table 13, corrected image signals, relating to the respective pixels, according to combination of first image signals for a preceding frame time and second image signals for a present frame time, the corrected image signals thus generated causing liquid crystal orientation in the pixels to be shifted from initial orientation of the present frame time to orientation indicated by the second image signals.
