Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent spacers from moving even if these spacers receive external force by forming a liquid crystal display device in such a manner that the spacers are penetrated into both oriented films and that the respective oriented films in these parts are penetrated into respectively corresponding film substrates.
CONSTITUTION: The spacers 9 are penetrated into the oriented films 5, 6 and the respective oriented films 5, 6 in these parts are penetrated into the respectively corresponding film substrates substrates 1, 2. The lower film l which is provided with transparent electrodes 3, the oriented film 5 and a sealing material 7 on its front surface is first prepd. The spacers 9 are then sprayed a spray, etc., atop the oriented film 5 on the inner side of the sealing material 7. Next, the upper film substrate 2 which is provided with transparent electrodes 4 and the oriented film 6 on its rear surface is prepd. and is arranged on the lower film substrate 1 so as to face this substrate. Both film substrates 1, 2 are then clamped and pressurized from above and below by using prescribed pressurizing jigs. The pressurizing conditions in such a case are determined by taking the diameter, shape and spraying density of the spacers 9, effective area of pressurization, etc., into consideration.
