Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in display quality due to nonuniformity in thickness of a liquid crystal layer between a seal material vicinity part and a display screen part and to suppress the occurrence of an electric short circuit defect due to a spacer in the seal material by arranging the spacers on the display screen part and the seal material part in an inside area of an area surrounded with the seal material. SOLUTION: An electrode 2 consisting of In-Sn-oxide (ITO) and an oriented film 3 on the electrode 2 are arranged on insulation substrates 1 opposite to each other. Then, the spacers 4 are arranged on a position not corresponding to the pixel of the display screen part on one side insulation substrate 1 and parts corresponding to the seal material 6. Then, a liquid crystal 5 is sealed between the insulation substrates 1 opposite to each other by the seal material 6. In such a manner, by arranging the spacers 4 having uniform thickness, distribution on the display screen part and the seal material 6 part, a frame defect is eliminated. That is, the thickness difference of the liquid crystal layer between the display screen part and the seal material 6 part is eliminated.
