Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a residual image occurring on a display screen of a liquid crystal display device.
SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device provided with a pair of substrates arranged to face each other and a liquid crystal layer held between the main surfaces of these substrates, and formed with a pixel area having switching elements and pixel electrodes connected therewith on a main surface of one of the above substrate pair faced to the above liquid crystal, and a protective film on the above liquid crystal layer side of these switching elements, the above protective film is formed by laminating a plurality of material layers including at least a 1st material layer and a 2nd material layer placed on the above liquid crystal side from the 1st material layer, and specific resistance of the above 2nd material layer is set lower than that of the 1st material layer and higher than specific resistance of silicon or a semiconductor layer forming the channels of the above switching elements.
