Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND PRODUCTION OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3284432
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of alignment to a counter substrate and to increase an opening rate by providing the liquid crystal display device with laminated films which consist of light shielding films and transparent films in the upper part of these light shielding films and are formed to shapes of patterns for specific position detection as alignment marks.
CONSTITUTION: Thin-film transistors are produced by simultaneously forming active layers 12a, the alignment marks 12b and the light shielding films 12c on an insulating substrate 11 and further, forming gate electrodes 14, etc. Next, a transparent conductive film is deposited thereon and is simultaneously worked to pixel electrodes 17a and the alignment marks 17b for detecting the positions of these pixel electrodes 17a by using a mask for pixel electrodes. Finally, the light shielding films 12c are worked to the patterns of the alignment marks by using the alignment marks 17b for detecting the position of the pixel electrodes 17a as a mask. The liquid crystal display device is assembled by mating the counter substrate with these alignment marks after the alignment marks are worked in such a manner.
