To provide a liquid crystal display device using an LED as a backlight, which includes an optical film group that does not cause a polarizing plate to have color change into red and does not deteriorate the display image quality.

A liquid crystal display device comprises: in the order from a visible side, a visible side polarizing plate with a structure sandwiched between two polarizing protective films; a liquid crystal cell; a backlight side polarizing plate with a structure sandwiched between two polarization protective films; and an LED backlight. The two polarization protective films of the visible side polarizing plate are each a cellulose ester film. The polarization protective film of the backlight side polarizing plate on the liquid crystal cell is a cellulose ester film.
