To use a ceramic capacitor as a smoothing capacitor of a booster circuit for a back light of a liquid crystal display device.
A liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal display panel; a back light having at least one light-emitting diode; a booster circuit part boosting a power supply voltage, and applying the boosted voltage to the at least one light-emitting diode; and a constant current circuit driving the at least one light-emitting diode by a constant current on the basis of a PWM signal input from exterior. The booster circuit part has a smoothing capacitor consisting of a ceramic capacitor at an output end. The liquid crystal display device further includes a ripple reduction circuit for reducing fluctuation in potential of the smoothing capacitor on the basis of the PWM signal input from exterior.
