Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having high color reproducibility, adaptable for DCI specifications and advantageous from the viewpoint of cost.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a backlight having a white LED comprising a combination of a blue LED, a red phosphor and a green phosphor to mix colors, and a color filter having color pixels of a plurality of colors including a red pixel, a green pixel and a blue pixel on a transparent substrate. The emission spectrum of the white LED exhibits a first peak wavelength in a range from 440 nm to 470 nm, a second peak wavelength in a range from 520 nm to 550 nm, a third peak wavelength and a fourth peak wavelength in a range from 610 nm to 700 nm, in which the first peak wavelength λ(nm) and the second peak wavelength λ(nm) satisfy (numerical expression 1): 85≤λ-λ≤90.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
