Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lateral electric field type liquid crystal display device in which the variation in display luminance is reduced.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate including a pixel electrode and a common electrode, a second substrate disposed opposite to the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer containing liquid crystal molecules, which is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate and has positive dielectric anisotropy. In the first pixel and the second pixel that are adjacent to each other, when a first data voltage to be applied to the first pixel in an input video signal is higher than a second data voltage to be applied to the second pixel in the input video signal, a first correction data voltage corresponding to the first data voltage that is corrected to be lower is applied to the first pixel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
