Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10133166
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To make a capacity component small, and reduce crosstalk and improve display uniformity by sandwiching liquid crystal between glass substrates where transparent electrode films are formed, making positive the dielectric anisotropy of the liquid crystal of the liquid crystal display device whose transparent electrode films are alignment-treated, and specifying the relation between its parallel component and vertical component.

On a segment-side substrate 1, an ITO(indium tin oxide) electrode 5 is arranged and further ran alignment layer 7 is formed. On a common- side substrate 2, a color filter 10 and a black matrix 6 are formed and on them a common-side ITO electrode 4 is installed and provided with the layer 7. Spacers 8 and the liquid crystal 9 are sandwiched between those glass substrates, which are adhered with a spacer-containing sealant 3 to obtain the liquid crystal display device. Here, the dielectric anisotropy Δ of the liquid crystal is made positive and its parallel component and vertical component are so related that (/)≥3. Consequently, a difference between capacity components generated when the liquid crystal panel is turned on and off is reducible.
