CONSTITUTION: Since a segment electrode 21 does not face a common electrode 12 in a display part, it is necessary that a common electrode 11 and the segment electrode 21 face each other in the seal part, but it is unnecessary that the common electrode 12 and the segment electrode 21 face each other there. Segment electrodes 22W29 other than this segment electrode 21 face common electrodes 11 and 12, and it is necessary that they face each other in the seal part. In this seal part, the resistance value between electrodes due to the seal material is made lower than that due to the liquid crystal. Thus, the electric charge is discharged more through the seal than the liquid crystal when the electric charge due to static electricity is accumulated, and erroneous display is quickly erased.
