Abstract:

To substantially reduce light escaping generated in an aperture region by superposition of colored layers, in a liquid crystal display.

The liquid crystal display is provided with an array substrate AR, a counter substrate CT, and a liquid crystal layer LQ interposed between the array substrate AR and the counter substrate CT, and the array substrate AR includes a plurality of signal lines X located at fixed intervals as light-shielding wiring layers, a plurality of colored layers R, G, and B formed by red, green, and blue colors, respectively, having specific visibility characteristics in aperture regions partitioned by the signal lines X and a plurality of pixel electrodes PE formed on the colored layers R, G, and B, respectively. Especially, low visibility-side colored layers of the plurality of colored layers R, G, and B are superposed on the respective signal lines X so as to be mainly upheaved.
