PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display that has a plurality of liquid crystal cells arranged in an overlapped manner, the liquid crystal display having a new structure.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display comprises: a light source; a pair of polarizing plates that are arranged separated from each other on the optical axis of the light source; a first liquid crystal cell that is arranged between the pair of polarizing plates and inclined at a first angle with respect to a virtual plane orthogonal to the optical axis of the light source; and a second liquid crystal cell that is arranged between the pair of polarizing plates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3-1
