PURPOSE: To narrow an adhesive region and to improve the opening rate of the liquid crystal display panel packed with a liquid crystal material between two sheets of glass substrates by sticking a sealant to the flanks of the glass substrates and adhering two sheets of the glass substrates.

CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal display panel 1 is constituted by packing the liquid crystal material 4 between two sheets of the glass substrates 2 and 3. Two sheets of the glass substrates 2, 3 are shifted from each other and the flanks thereof are provided with a level difference γ. The sealant 5 is stuck to the flank 6 of the one glass substrate 2 and the exposed surface 7 of the level difference γ of the other glass substrate 3. A thermosetting epoxy resin, UV curing epoxy resin, cold setting epoxy resin, etc., are used as the sealant 5. The non-effective display region is drastically decreased and the high strength of adhesion is obtd. by such constitution.
