Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5443762
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the display performance and to simplify the electrode terminal shape by effecting the compensation corresponding to changes is circumstances with the use of a monocylic IC.

CONSTITUTION: In response to the temperature-sensitive signals to be fed to a temperature detector 1, there are generated a main voltage, which corresponds to the threshold difference between transistors 10 and 11 having the same conductance, a reference voltage VS1 having a temperature dependency, and a voltage VS2 corresponding to a reproducible temperature according to the conductance ratio of transistors 14 and 15. Both the voltage VS1 and the voltage VS2' which has passed through gates 29 and 36 to be opened in response to the shift pulses from a shift resistor 41, are compared by a CMOS operational amplifier 37 so that the clocks to be fed to the resistor 41 are stopped in response to the reversed output of the amplifier 37. The duty of the output pulses of the control circuit 3, which is operative to impress the control pulses to a liquid crystal display element through the decorder 42 of a pulse width control circuit 2 and a gate circuit in accordance with the storage of the resistor 41, is compensated in accordance with the temperature. In accordance with the circuit thus constructed, the compensating circuit can be integrated in a monocylic manner so that the display performance can be improved while the electrode terminal shape can be simplified.
