PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal printer which can form a sharp color image having high resolution by using an inexpensive liquid crystal color panel controlled with a video signal.

CONSTITUTION: A condenser lens 4 and the liquid crystal color panel 6 are arranged in the lower part of a halogen lamp 3, respectively. The liquid crystal color panel 6 is held by a piezoelectric element so as to be moved. In an exposure, the exposure is carried out three times while an image displayed on the liquid crystal color panel 6 is moved in the opposite direction in synchronization with the movement of the liquid crystal color panel 6 in an unidirection by a quantity corresponding to one cell.
