PURPOSE: To obtain sharp images with substantially no influence of a malfunction point even if such point exists in a part of elements by superposing and disposing ≥2 liquid crystal television cells to constitute an image generator.
CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal television functions in exactly the same manner as the image generator consisting of one liquid crystal television cell as all of the corresponding elements E1 and E'1, E2 and E'2...,En and E'n of the liquid crystal television cells R1, R'1 have the same state in conformity with a signal. Even if a part of the elements of the liquid crystal television cells R1, R'1 is in a state of a malfunction, and even if the elements are in a light transmission state at all times, the images conforming to signals can be formed by the light transmission state and interruption state based on the signals of the corresponding elements of the other liquid crystal television cells and the sharp images are obtd. The liquid crystal television cells are, therefore, constituted of the extremely small elements by segmenting the respective elements. The image conforming to the signals are formed even if a part of the elements malfunctions. The sharp images are thus obtd.
