A liquid curable resin composition comprising for optical fibers (A) a urethane (meth)acrylate oligomer in particular an oligomer comprising a polyether backbone, (B) an unsaturated polymerizable compound, (C) a photoinitiator, and (D) an antioxidan which causes the cured coating to exhibit a yellowing index after five days exposure of less than 5, and a Youngs modulus retention rate of more than 70 % after aging for 30 days at 100 DEG C. In particular, component D can be a compound shown by the following formula (1), wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms and R and R individually represent alkyl groups having 1-12 carbon atoms, or 2-tert-butyl-6-(3'-tert-butyl-5'-methyl-2'-hydroxybenzyl)-4-methylphenyl acrylate.
