Abstract:
To provide a liquid discharge device which can stably perform circulation and supply of a liquid, and a liquid discharge head.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device comprises: a discharge port for discharging a liquid; a pressure chamber which accommodates the liquid for discharge from the discharge port; an element which is provided in the pressure chamber, and generates energy required for discharging the liquid; a first tank and a second tank which can accommodate the liquid; a flow channel which communicates the first tank and the second tank with each other via the pressure chamber; changeover means which changes a flow direction of the liquid in the flow channel between a first direction in which the liquid flows from the first tank to the second tank and a second direction in which the liquid flows from the second tank to the first tank; and pressure compensation means which, when a pressure of a downstream side flow channel part on a downstream side in the flow direction of the liquid with respect to the pressure chamber is a prescribed pressure or less in the flow channel, supplies the liquid to the downstream side flow channel part, thereby compensating reduction in a pressure of the downstream side flow channel part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
