Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve a longer life by setting the coefficient of suction speed, the suction volume, the porosity, and the maximum suction height at a specified value each in a porous cermic burner designed to vaporize and release a liquid fuel sucked.

CONSTITUTION: When the height in suction of kerosene from the liquid surface is expressed by h0cm and the time required for having the kerosene reaching the height t0min, the coefficient of kerosene sucking speed by a porous ceramics composing a burner is h02/t0. A required burner is composed of a porous ceramics which provides the coefficient of suction speed of 20cm2/min or more. In addition, the ceramics employed must meet the following requirements; 1.5g/cm2/min or more in the liquid fuel suction amount; 40W70% in the prosity and 40mm or more in the maximum kerosene suction height. With such an arrangement, it is possible to provide a burner which can check the attachment of tar for long time and withstand prolonged use.
