To provide a liquid jetting apparatus which can effectively suppress the generation of mist that becomes minute droplets to float when the maintenance operation is carried out.
The liquid jetting apparatus is equipped with a platen 13 which supports paper P, a recording head 23 which jets ink from nozzles to the paper P, a carriage 20 which reciprocates the recording head 23, a flushing box 15 provided separately from a capping device 34 of the recording head 23 in a flushing region outside a printing region where the paper P is supported by the platen 13, a flushing control means 49 which recovers jetting characteristics of the recording head 23 by jetting the ink from the nozzles to the flushing box 15, a head position changing means 10 which changes a height position of the recording head 23 to the platen 13, and a maintenance position changing means 9 which changes a height position of the flushing box 15 correspondingly to the height position of the recording head 23 when the action of printing to the paper P is carried out.
