To suppress the generation of an aerosol by making an absorbing member 146 approach a recording paper 180.
This inkjet type recording device 100 comprises a carrying section 150 which carries the recording paper 180, a recording head 172, and a platen unit 140. In this case, the recording head 172 jets a liquid toward the surface of the recording paper 180 while reciprocating in a direction crossing the carrying direction. The platen unit 140 supports the recording paper 180 from the rear surface at a position being confronted with the recording head 172. The platen unit 140 has a platen rib 142 which supports the recording paper 180 by coming into contact with the rear surface, platen auxiliary rollers 144 and 145, and an absorbing member 146. In this case, the platen auxiliary rollers 144 and 145 come into contact with the recording paper 180 from the same side as the platen rib 142, and accompany the displacement of the recording paper 180 in the carrying direction. The absorbing member 146 has a surface which is separated more than the platen rib 142 and the platen auxiliary rollers 144 and 145 to the recording paper 180, and is arranged around the platen rib 142 and the platen auxiliary rollers 144 and 145.
