Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the leakage of a plating liquid from a plating liquid cell by wear of driving and sealing rolls by constituting the inlet and outlet of a plate material to be plated of the plating liquid cell of these rolls pressed by air balloons.
CONSTITUTION: The plate material 3 to be plated is carried out in an arrow direction by rotation of a pair of the driving and sealing rolls 4, 4a in the outlet 2 of the plating liquid cell 1. U-shaped housings 9, 9a for sealing are arranged on the opposite side of the driving and sealing rolls 4, 4a. Sliding bodies 10 and the air balloons 11, 11a are mounted therein. Sealing plates 12 are fixed to the front ends of the sliding bodies 10 and are pressed to the sealing rolls 4, 4a. The air balloons are formed of elastic materials, such as rubber, to a vertically long shape and maintain always the specified pressure to uniformly press the driving rolls regardless of their height and, therefore, even if the wear occurs between the sealing rolls 4 and the sealing plates 12, the sealing plates 12 are pressed to the rolls 4 with the specified pressure by the air balloons 11, by which the leakage of the plating liquid is prevented.
