To provide a liquid softener imparting various textile products with excellent softness, smoothness and drapeability and having good color stability to light.
The softener contains (A) a silicone compound, (B) a water-soluble polymer compound having cationic property, (C) an acid dye and/or direct dye and (D) an antioxidant. The A:B mass ratio is 99:1 to 50:50. A good storage stability is attained by the combined use of a nonionic surfactant and a specific water-soluble solvent, a liquid softener having highly transparent appearance and free from the formation of deposit on the wall of a container can be produced by using a silicone having a polyether group as the silicone, and the metering property of the softener is improved by the addition of a defoaming agent.
