To provide a lithium-ion secondary battery which is superior in assembling performance, reliable, and efficiency-oriented at a low cost.
The lithium-ion secondary battery is equipped with an electrode group 6 in which a positive electrode plate that is a foil-like current collector coated with positive electrode mixture and a negative electrode plate that is a foil-like current collector coated with negative electrode mixture are arranged with a separator between them. The foil-like current collectors of the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate have on one side end part of them a plain part uncoated with active material mixture, a part of the plain part is protruded from the end part of the separator, and at the end part of the plain part, the current collecting disc 7 is electrically connected and housed in a battery container. Between the end part of the plain protruded part and a current collecting disc 7, a foil or a plate 18 made of the same material as that of the foil-like current collector is arranged, and the end part of the protruded plain part is welded to the current collecting disc 7 via the foil or the plate 18 between them.
