Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-voltage lithium secondary battery equipped with good charge-discharge cyclic characteristics by improving so that the crystaline structure of lithium-containing manganese composite oxide does not vary even through repetitive charging and discharging.
SOLUTION: A positive electrode of a lithium secondary battery contains lithium-containing manganese composite oxide expressed by the formula Lix(MN2-Y-ZCuYLiZ)O4, where the conditions should be met that 0.02≤X≤2.00, 0.20≤Y≤0.60, and 0<Z≤0.20. This composite oxide expressed by the given formula does not undergo any change in the crystalline structure even through repetitive charging and discharging, so that a resultant lithium secondary battery incorporating this substance is equipped with enhanced cyclic characteristics. The cyclic characteristics are still more enhanced through combination of this composite oxide with an electrolytic solution whereto imide series lithium salt or methide series lithium salt is added.
