PURPOSE: To increase the efficiency of outputting an electric pulse by forming a protective layer of an output electrode as a thin film made by applying non- oxidizing coating material containing carbon to a metallic plate in a living body stimulating device having an output electrode comprising a metallic plate and a conductive protective layer provided on the output surface thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A living body stimulating device is constructed so that a circuit board 4 fitted with a circuit portion comprising a pulse generating circuit for generating a low-frequency stimulating pulse and a control circuit is disposed in a main body 1 comprising upper and lower cases 2, 3. A pair of positive and negative output electrodes 11, 12 respectively connected to the circuit portion are provided in the main body 1. Each of the output electrodes 11, 12 comprises a semicircular metallic plate 13, 16 and a protective layer 15 provided on the output surface thereof, that is, a side where a pressure sensitive adhesive pad 14 stuck. In this case, the protective layer 15 is formed by a material containing carbon as conductive material in a silicone coating material which is a non-oxidizing material mainly composed of silicone. Thus, the reduction in thickness of the output electrode can be accomplished and the output efficiency of electric pulses can be improved.
