To enhance safety when short circuit failure occurs in a capacitor for setting the frequency of a triangle wave signal when a load is controlled based on a generated triangle wave signal.
The load controller controls a load based on a generated triangle wave signal. The load controller comprises a circuit for generating a triangle wave signal having the same frequency in a first insertion state where a capacitor C1 for setting the frequency of a triangle wave signal is inserted between a constant voltage Vc and the noninput terminal of a comparator CP1 and a second insertion state where the capacitor C1 is inserted between the ground and the noninput terminal of a comparator CP1. Furthermore, patterns P1-P3 are formed such that the capacitor C1 can be inserted in any one of the first insertion state and the second insertion state.
